Learning came to life as Upward Bound students rolled up their sleeves for an exciting hands-on anatomy lab, where they dissected pig hearts to explore the inner workings of the cardiovascular system.

During the activity, students examined the heart's chambers, valves, arteries, and veins while learning how each part works together to circulate oxygen-rich blood throughout the body. The pig heart, which closely resembles the human heart, provided an excellent opportunity for students to connect classroom concepts with real-world scientific observation.

The dissection encouraged students to think critically, ask questions, and develop a deeper appreciation for the complexity of human anatomy.
